Siddiqi Foundation Awards Grant for Whittle Springs Middle School Pathway
Together with Whittle Springs Middle School, Knox County Health Department, Knox County, the City of Knoxville, BikeWalk Knoxville and United Way, a new pathway connecting nearby neighborhoods to Whittle Springs Middle School was opened, giving students a safer way to walk to and from school along White Oak Lane, a road with dangerous curves and hills.
Siddiqi Foundation Awards Grant to Legacy Parks
The Siddiqi Foundation continues to show continued support for Legacy Parks Foundation’s projects through a $15,000 grant to construct Knoxville’s first all-inclusive trail on Legacy Parks’ 42-acres at Sharp’s Ridge. This trail will accommodate users of all types, including those with disabilities. The grant will also fund four all-terrain wheelchairs that will be available to rent from a local bike shop.

Legacy Parks Foundation opened a new kids adventure play area today at Baker Creek Preserve in the heart of Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness. The Siddiqi Charitable Foundation, Earthadelic, and REI contributed to the project, helping Legacy Parks transform an unused space into an attractive, useful area that encourages youth to explore outdoor recreation.

Beardsley Community Farm Education Center Opened Thanks to Extensive Design/Build Partnership
Today Mayor Madeline Rogero, City Council and other officials opened the new CAC Beardsley Community Farm urban agriculture community education center, which includes 1,200 square feet of indoor education space and 1,800 square feet of covered outdoor education space.
